The vowel -e- is also attested, besides High German, in older Dutch prengen. Could perhaps be explained from the strong present. All attested forms seem to be weak. Not sure whether original reduplication automatically means it must become a class-7 strong verb in West Germanic; some could perhaps have become weak instead. 90.186.72.208 01:29, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
