Etymology
[edit]Translating the Ancient Greek Septuagint’s Σοφῐ́ᾱ (Σολομῶντος) (Sophĭ́ā (Solomôntos), “Wisdom [of Solomon]”). The other book of the Bible entitled Σοφῐ́ᾱ… (Sophĭ́ā…, “Wisdom…”)—Σοφία Σειράχ (Sophía Seirákh, “Wisdom of Sirach”)—usually goes by the name Ecclēsiasticus.
