Although Trager doesnt say so, I would guess that this word is a compound with the ło- "wood" element similarly to łòtúna. This is assuming of course that in Taos chief's canes are prototypically made of wood. Perhaps the same for łòthə́na. Ishwar 17:01, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
