As noted in the etymology: χλαμύς is likely a West-Semitic loan from the Aramaic גְלִימָא‎ (glīmā). The vowels in glīmā apparently transport, with the "α" and the "υ" in χλαμύς (representing a and i respectively) switching. Is this an example of metathesis? If so, should we update the etymology to reflect this? Hyper 22uk (talk) 18:56, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
