@Fay Freak: Is this the source of Iranian شیشه, from Akkadian šaššu?

@Calak I don’t know about Iranian. Fay Freak (talk) 13:12, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Fay Freak: didn't ask about Iranian, need info about Jewish Babylonian Aramaic 'ăšîšā, jug, and Biblical Hebrew šayiš, alabaster, marble [1].--Calak (talk) 13:25, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Calak Sokoloff, Michael (2002) A Dictionary of Jewish Babylonian Aramaic of the Talmudic and Geonic periods, Ramat Gan: Bar Ilan University, page 1141 says of the bottle-word, not the marble one (about the etymology of the marble one he separates he says naught): “< MIr *šīšā”. @Calak Plus this was written already on ܫܝܫܬܐ. Fay Freak (talk) 20:42, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for you information. Well I have no idea. I though it is a Semitic loanword. Still I think it doesn't have Iranian origin.--Calak (talk) 20:52, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
