أَيُّ or أَيَّ or أَيِّ or أَيٌّ or أَيًّا or أَيٍّ
[edit]Hi, the different pronunciations actually seem to be the declensio thereof; am I right? Thanks in advance. Backinstadiums (talk) 15:36, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yes. This should be changed, but I don't know how. —This unsigned comment was added by 84.188.188.203 (talk) at 00:56, 7 February 2018 (UTC).
or a prepositional enclitic
[edit]HI, prepositions are prefixed, not postponed. Could sb. check it? Thanks in advance. --Backinstadiums (talk) 19:05, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
- The question is not very clear. I'll answer to what I think the question may be. Prepositions can be prepositioned to أي, yes. So you can say: من أي كتاب أخذت هذه المعلومات؟ (“From which book did you take this information?”) But postpositioning is always possible in Arabic by means of an absolute-nominative construction: أي كتاب أخذت هذه المعلومات منه؟.

[edit]Shouldn't أَيّ be considered a determiner (as well)? In "Which is your favourite?" it does (to my knowledge) act as a pronoun, but in "Which country?" I would think it is a determiner. Hrmanes (talk) 14:54, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
