@Jafroni: More like “council, people adhering to a joint opinion” is from لَجِنَ (lajina, to stick or get stuck), لَجَنَ (lajana, to be stubborn), لَجِن (lajin, sticky), لَجِين (lajīn, sticky, something pressed together), لَجُون (lajūn, stubborn (camel etc.), many quotes in Ullmann, Manfred (1973–1983) Wörterbuch der klassischen arabischen Sprache.
