Why does it say there are no cognates in other IE languages? It looks like a straightforward s-stem derivation of *legh-, exactly cognate with Greek λέχος. *leghos>*rajhas>रहस् follows all the expected sound laws and all the Sanskrit and Greek meanings seem derivable from an original “expanse, [suspiciously] open space, that which is laid out.”
