Disrespectful

[edit]

It's my understanding that this term is no longer widely used because it is disrespectful/derogatory/pejorative--as it refers to the Chinese as "children." Is this correct? 24.29.228.33 02:11, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think it’s quite common. I’m not aware of any derogatory sense and I don’t think people understand it as meaning that the Chinese are children. Someone else may be of a different opinion, but I think the term is safe to use and not insulting. —Stephen 03:57, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK, a Thai acquaintance told me it's generally thought of as pejorative earlier today. 24.29.228.33 04:59, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
