Etymology[edit]

I've restored the etymology section. Shorto traces said word back to Burmese အောင် (aung) which is inherited from Proto-Lolo-Burmese. The word has also been borrowed into Shan ဢွင်ႇ (ʼàung) due to historical contact. -Hintha (talk) 03:32, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
