No. You can use a numeral with a counter to express the number of objects. As the counter words used with ships are (せき, seki) or (そう, sou), depending on the size of the ships, "three ships" should 3艘 or 3隻. --友枝真樹 (Tomoeda Maki) 17:51, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
