PH Hokkien

[edit]

@Mlgc1998 Also wanted to ask about this word. This doesn't seem to be a word used much in Hokkien. You didn't mean 自私? Mar vin kaiser (talk) 17:09, 26 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Mar vin kaiser oh after christmas 2021? I don't quite remember what took place then 3yrs ago anymore, on what was talked about, but usually whenever I hear family say some form of /tsi si/ sounding term, the person they're describing that with fits the description of both 自恃 and 自私 anyways, usually some family member describing another family member or relative for whatever drama they have with each other. I'm not sure if both are used but the term in 自私 sounds more common. Idk tho if there was a point in time someone tried to tell me about the difference my relatives ramble to me about in hokkien. @Mlgc1998: I highly doubt a literary word like this which is not used in colloquial Hokkien would be used by your relatives, so it's probably 自私. Removing it for now. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 06:39, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
