I always go to three (or four) Chinese supermarkets on the same day for this purpose, and I usually see some of the same Chinese shoppers at all of them--so perhaps they know this expression. Based on my own personal experience, I would say that the average native Mandarin speaker should have no problem understanding this phrase, provided that you use it within the right context and with the correct pronunciation. Also, the google hits for the phrase exceed 20,000 in both Taiwan and the PRC. I use google hits as a poor man's statistical test. Of course, you should be careful to observe the kinds of google hits that are coming back so as to ensure that you are not getting a lot of false positives (usually, a person fluent in the language must do this part). -- A-cai 09:16, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
