The usage of "커뿌" in both Koreas.

[edit]

"커뿌" was a remenant of Japanese loanwords in Korean. It was used in Korea when it was colonized, and still is used in North Korea. South Korea also used to use "커뿌", however it was most likely removed as the United States had a greater influence in South Korea and Anti-Japanese sentiment was rising in both Koreas (I don't think I have to explain why). Nevertheless, "커뿌" is used as an official spelling of the English word "Cup" in North Korea and in South Korea as a loanword maybe older generations can recognize.
