-eńka[edit]

@Vininn126: Hi. Tell me, please, is the suffix -eńka exactly connected to the producing non-diminutive bases? ɶLerman (talk) 10:47, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Vininn126: You just write that ‎babuleńka was obtained by combining the substantive ‎babula with the diminutive suffix -eńka. But I think it's better to do it differently:

  • babula > babula + -ka > babulka > babulka + -eńka > babuleńka, just like
  • owa > głowa + -ka > ówka > główka + -eńka > óweńka

@ɶLerman chances are it is indeed formed from another already affixed word and I can check sometime next week. Vininn126 (talk) 11:10, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Vininn126: Try, I just used Zaliznyak's idea for the Russian about substitutive suffixes in morphophonology to the Polish. It would be interesting. ɶLerman (talk) 11:16, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Vininn126: Hi. Did you manage to find out anything? ɶLerman (talk) 09:38, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@ɶLerman Not yet, I haven't forgotten. I'll check a book I have at home later and I remember some website called something like "Dictionary of Polish morphemes". I'll keep you updated. Vininn126 (talk) 09:40, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

@ɶLerman My source didn't mention anything, nor can I find the website - the way it is now seems fine. Vininn126 (talk) 08:30, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
