Words that do not have mainstream currency need their sources examined carefully. If a minor source is used, it may be that a circular effect is generated, and we are giving undue authority to somebody trying to coin a word.

If I were to invent a word, could I use my blog as a source here? I think we need some publications with real-world authority. If this word has any real currency, there should be little difficulty in finding multiple good sources. BritniPepper (talk) 10:52, 17 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Use WT:RFVE if you have a reason to doubt that the term would have sufficiently widespread use. No, personal blogs are not valid "durably archived" sources. — surjection?14:19, 17 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
