My impression is that Erin is usually a homonym of Aaron in American English. Any comments?

Erin and Aaron are homophones for me too. I guess it could be considered a homophone with a disclaimer, since it depends on what mergers one uses in their speech, but i'm not well-read on the rules. Erin/Aaron shows us another merger that doesn't seem to be acknowledged, which is the merger of -[ɪn] into -[ən] at the end of words.
