What is correct ?[edit]

What is correct ? A European Declaration of Independence OR An European Declaration of Independence ? 89.217.140.251 20:08, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The use of "a" is correct. Look at the pronunciation of Eurpoean and you'll see that it begins with a /j/ phoneme, which means it has a consonant sound initially, rather than a vowel sound. Before a consonant sound, "a" should be used. --EncycloPetey 20:21, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your quick answer ! There should be such an example on the main page, shouldn't there ? 89.217.66.195 14:11, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Eventually, yes, but there are only a few of us adding published quotations. Most work is still being done to add missing words, etymologies, or relationships between words (such as translations). --EncycloPetey 17:28, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I'll add it maybe. 89.217.169.112 20:42, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
