"Any of a group"?[edit]

The def seems wrong to me: Finno-Ugric doesn't mean "any of a group of languages [] "; rather, it means "a group of languages [] ". No? I mean, someone who speaks Finnish isn't therefore described as speaking Finno-Ugric. —RuakhTALK 03:16, 7 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

This sounds like a confusion with the adjectival sense. E.g. my first language is indeed Finno-Ugric (adj.), but it is not Finno-Ugric (n.) --Tropylium (talk) 20:33, 24 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
