Usage of this word to mean "The United States"

[edit]

From what I've heard, the original meaning of this was was an alternative term for the United States. It comes from the English word "freedom" but changed up to sound like a pseudo-latin place name. That usage of the word is archaic, but it's the original meaning of the word, so should it be included in the "etymology" section or something?
