I'm just requesting the deletion of the Trivia section, "This is the most abbreviated form of any English word, from the original full title of the City of Los Angeles: “El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula”".
LA is an abbreviation of "Los Angeles", (deprecated template usage) Los Angeles is an English name, and a Spanish name that was originally a Spanish abbreviation of "El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula". Even if LA were an English abbreviation of the full original Spanish name, I can't find any references to verify that it is the "most abbreviated form of any English word", probably because neither "Los Angeles" nor "El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula" are a single word, but multi-word terms. Further more, this type of thing feels more encyclopaedic than dictionaric. Thryduulf (talk) 09:13, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. Delete the section as per your arguement above.--Dmol 09:38, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
