Is "Messrs." restricted to multiple men, or can it be used for plural groups including men and women?
- It refers to men only. This is an abbreviation of the French Messieurs, plural of Monsieur (my sir/lord), the female counterpart of which is madame (pl. mesdames). Usually one would say "Mesdames et Messieurs" (in French) or "ladies and gentlemen" (in English) when adressing a group of both sexes. – Krun 23:53, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
