Requested entries for Prakrit terms[edit]

I'd like to add a requested entry listing for विरलायते, which is said to be from a Prakrit language. Do we have a Requested Entries page for the Prakrit languages? 173.88.241.33 00:35, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

From Hindi[edit]

Inqilābī, if it was from Sanskrit, then why would the last schwa be deleted? And "ri" is a characteristic of New Indic languages, not Sanskrit. To me, it seems clear that this isn't borrowed from Sanskrit. Regards, 🔥ಶಬ್ದಶೋಧಕ🔥 05:01, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Online Etymological Dictionary is a good source for etymology, so better not do original research here. And as for the phonological changes, the English term was borrowed, not transliterated (as more recent Indic-related terminologies), so naturally enough the form became Anglicised. ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 16:42, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
