Wiktionary seems to have exchanged the meanings of al-Rahim --- merciful or the merciful or The Merciful (viz The-God) or The Merciful One (viz The-God) and of al-Rahman --- compassion or compassionate or the compassionate or The Compassionate (viz. The-God) or The Compassionate One (viz. The-God). Quran Sharif starts "Bismillah urRahman urRahim ..." ("In the name of (The) God, The Compassionate, The Merciful ...") the formula "Allah(u) urRahman wa urRahim" meaning "The-God (is) (The)Compassionate (One) and (The) Merciful (one)" (repeated again and again in that Book, often followed by words meaning "blessed are the compassionate and merciful" the two lines always follow the punishment given by parts of the Book setting out the Law (Sharia)Rameshkkhanna (talk) 22:16, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
