Is Scotsman a Noun or a Proper noun? The answer is not (easily) available in WT:POS.
Dutchman, Englishman, Frenchman and Welshman seem to be nouns, but Irishman seems to be a proper noun. Scotsman was a proper noun, I changed it to noun, but someone didn't agree with my change. 84.197.181.104 17:50, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proper noun. WT:POS doesn't try to define parts of speech that are fully defined elsewhere. In general, in English, if it is Capitalized (and a noun) then it is a proper noun. Robert Ullmann 17:56, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
