I changed this from German to English. In German there would be no "Sh" in the beginning of any word, just "Sch", it may be of German origin, but the German versions are Schuh, Schuhmacher, Schumacher etc..always using Sch" and meaning "shoe" / "shoemaker". Compare Schuh. With this spelling i would says its an English / American surname (of German origin) but not a German surname. Mutante 12:12, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
