Italics in title

[edit]

@Theknightwho: I wrote “{{DISPLAYTITLE:''Star Wars''–esque}}” but the title did not change. J3133 (talk) 11:34, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@J3133 @Benwing2 is more knowledgable about the headword module than me, so is probably better placed to help. Theknightwho (talk) 11:38, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Theknightwho, J3133 I think Module:headword is overriding the display title, because if you comment out the {{en-adj}} call, the DISPLAYTITLE works. This is probably happening to enforce the right script (I think User:Erutuon originally added that support), but probably it should only happen in languages that need this script enforcement. I'll have to look into it tomorrow; I'm about to get on a flight to Spain. Benwing2 (talk) 18:53, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2 @Erutuon I wonder if a better solution might be to match the formatting in the head value if it's compatible with DISPLAYTITLE? Otherwise, this issue will come up again with a script that we do need to be tagged in the title; plus, it's probably good to do that with all scripts anyway.
