Are you sure about "hock a Bode" (sit on the bench)? "Bode" means "ground". I don't know enough about Swiss German to rule out that there's another word meaning "bench", but the apparent meaning would be "sit on the ground". — This comment was unsigned.
- Oh yeah – how strange. I can't remember why I put that now, I'll have to look at my copy of the Teich to check. My version includes a translation into Hochdeutsch, so maybe I was going on something in that. Ƿidsiþ 06:31, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
