How do we know that the stem is algae/algæ, rather than alga? Considering the patterns and etymology of regicide and fratricide, both seem to come from genitive forms of the Latin base. (Not that I speak Latin, but see also fratricidium#Latin and frater#Latin for the latter.) Furthermore, patricide is said to have been formed merely by copying the pattern of suicide. —DIV (1.145.44.125 05:07, 29 June 2022 (UTC))
