doubt[edit]

In one video of internet (Gamespot) the reviewer was talking about a game and he said: "... and allegedly this is a great franchise of game...," meaning something like 'conspicuously', or 'like everyone knows'. By then (months ago), I checked such usage, and it effectively was in some dictionary of Internet (although I couldn't find it again). Is this correct, or not? Though not logically formed, as it does not mean “in an alleged manner,” it's a convenient space- and time-saver for "it is alleged that" or "according to the allegations" --Backinstadiums (talk) 17:02, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
