- Yes.
False etymology
[edit]I think the etymology is false.
From french wiktionary: "Du grec ancien ἀνωμαλία, anomalia (« aspérité », « irrégularité ») dérivé de l’adjectif ἀνώμαλος, anomalos (« inégal », « irrégulier »). Il s’agit vraisemblablement de an- privatif et ὠμαλος, omalos (« uni », « lisse »)." --84.99.236.244 17:13, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Correctly, the word was borrowed directly (into English, and many other languages), not morphologically composed in the English as the current etymology misleadingly suggest. Will be corrected, thanks for the notice --Ivan Štambuk 17:36, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
