While “fazienda” is the etymological origin of modern Spanish hacienda, I think it’s clear that the borrowing occurred after the shift of /f/ > /h~ф/ > 0, otherwise we would expect the Italian to be fazienda as such a sound shift did not occur with word initial /f/ in Italian. 73.85.156.86 22:21, 1 September 2021 (UTC)Tom in FloridaReply
