I searched the word Barrister and bar.
A bar is a shape. A gold bar. Within a drinking establishment-- "Bar" what separates the bartender from the patrons is a bar shaped structure.
Lawyers may have frequented drinking establishments,i.e, hanging out in bars.

Please can you show some evdence that another meaning of barrister is Nigerian scammer. I've read some newspaper articles on the subject, for example this one at msnbc and this one at theatlantic.com, and it appears from these articles that occasionally these Nigerian scammers pose as barristers. However, I can't find any evidence that the word barrister is ever used meaning a Nigerian scammer. And as a result, your additions have been reverted. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I hope to see you around more. --Jackofclubs 07:01, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
