I have just become aware of the word "bonair", (obsolete) gentle; courteous; complaisant; yielding
It seems that it ought to be related to "debonair", that originated from the French for "of good family."
Gentle and courteous both seem reasonably related to "of good family," but complaisant and yielding are more of a stretch. Any thoughts? --Mwanner (talk) 16:30, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
