What's a brace of ducks?[edit]

Two... or is it more? Do they have to be dead?

It's a pair of animals, tied together, such as a brace of dogs in a harness side by side. The brace is probably (originally) the cord/strap that ties the two animals together. As for ducks, you would probably only tie them together if they were dead. If there are 4 or 6 ducks, then it would be "two or three brace" of ducks (no "s" on the plural). Ron B. Multiple braces as emoticon?[edit]

I've often seen multiple braces placed around a name in chatrooms, symbolizing a "hug" for the named person. (For instance: {{{Jane}}} would mean that I'd just hugged Jane.) Does Wikipedia support {{{}}} as a title? If not, how would I create an article for the emoticon appendix? --ISNorden 05:42, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
