to canton the verb?[edit]

Apparently, my phonetics book says there is a homograph for that word, namely the verb 'to canton', pronounced with a stress on the second syllable, which is rhymes with bu'foon'...I can't seem to find a good definition for it though, nor can I find any examples of its use...Hopefully someone reading this page will in the near future.zigzig20s 20:22, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Indeed on The Sandman Annotations I find the following: ‘In one citation, tailors and musicians are cantoned (or quartered) in Fiddler's Green.’ H. (talk) 11:49, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
