I made a stub entry

[edit]

Definition as "A footboy; so called from such servants commonly following close behind their master or mistress" is from the "1811 Dictionary in the Vulgar Tongue" by Francis Grose https://www.gutenberg.org/files/5402/5402.txt

Also spelled catch-fart and "catch fart".

The word is historical slang, but a web search shows some recent (as of 2022) use as, apparently, a synonym for sycophant. I don't know how far back that goes. I don't feel qualified to create a more complete entry so I'll leave that to someone else.
