Deep Vs. Slight?

[edit]

Princeton defines compunction as "deep regret", while Wiktionary defines it as "slight regret"... I mean, I can understand that they both effectively mean regret, but the severity and the extent of it does vary. Any ideas on how to go about this?

I understand that it's a case of semantics, but given what preciseness Wikipedia attempts to maintain, I was wondering if this matter is worth discussing.
