science fiction term[edit]

I removed this line from Wikipedia (the w:Deadhead page):

a transhumanist and science-fiction term denoting a person who hopes to see the future without having to experience the intervening time by hibernating in cryostasis

Might need to be included here, I don't have any sources for it though.--Commander Keane 09:22, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is from Cory Doctorow's Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom. I'm not sure if this meets the "attestation" test for inclusion. On the one hand, it is a well-known work. On the other hand, it is only one work. Be nice if we can find another sf work that uses it the same way. --Dunhamrc 04:19, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

plumbing term[edit]

Oops, one more:
"deadhead" or "dead head" is a term in plumbing, which may refer to the situation where the normally flowing fluid comes to a stop.
