This seems to be legitimate - there are Google hits that suggest the sense of a term of abuse.

Is it really an acronym? Is it really capitalised? If not, the plural would be "deejes". — Paul G 11:58, 24 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

i find that term abusive![edit]

i am of the lesser able society and have been called that for many of my 16 years. this word used by the uncaring part of civilisation deems that i am a 'tard' and i do not agree. Pat McGroin

Talk: Deej[edit]

It is capitalised for emphasis and is rarely used non-capitalised. It is not possible to use the word as a plural as the term "Deej" is used to describe the person of a group, of any size, who has the biggest problems. This could be physical, as in deformed face or glasses, or mental, such as they fail almost everything they try to achieve in life. The complex definition and history of the insult can be summed up as the persons life being a failure.

Origins[edit]

Does this word originate from the Tayside area of Scotland?
