"Deinstall" is slang and does not appear in standard dictionaries. The appropriate word to use in these instances is "uninstall." Also, point of accuracy for tags applied to this "word": the "i before e" rule is only applied to words with combined or blended vowel occurrences, so "deinstall" is neither example nor exception to the rule. The i/e rule has no relevance where "i" is the first letter of a root and happens to be prefixed with "de-", "re-", etc., because the vowels are sounded independently of each other, e.g. the word "rein" is a valid example of an exception of the rule, but "reinsurance" is not. 198.203.175.175 17:36, 9 July 2019 (UTC)endstateReply
