Etymology[edit]
We need more of an etymology than "from French." For example, what do "dia-" and "tonic" mean? 173.89.236.187 02:35, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
- The French term diatonique comes from the noun diaton - but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent noun in English - "diatone" (though we do have tone and semitone). SemperBlotto (talk) 06:31, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
