How does it differ from Gumption?
- gumption = aggressiveness, resourcefulness, spunk, guts;
- effrontery = shameless or impudent boldness.
- gumption is a positive characteristic, an admired trait; effrontery is a negative characteristic, looked down on and strongly discouraged. —Stephen 03:04, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Esfronté definitely exists, but I'm not sure it's attested as far back as Old French. In fact even as far back as Middle French is proving problematic. Renard Migrant (talk) 16:33, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
