It isn't pronounced like that everywhere. "Eit" is not the common pronunciation for the Northern Irish Dialect, it's more like the diphthong in mate ("i(as in meet)-i(as in it)t basically.

Some Britsh dialects also use "ait" instead. 13:34, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
