Is eisen for "iron" in German really obsolete? 02:16, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

I can't find the adjective in any current German dictionary, only in the old Deutsches Wörterbuch. Longtrend 08:37, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
As adjective superseded by eisern. I doubt that it's attestable after 1800 AD. There is obviously the noun Eisen (iron), with uppercase E. -- Gauss 20:06, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
