PGmc *firsniz, parallel to *fersnō

[edit]

Notably OE fiersn is a feminine i-stem, not an ō-stem like the suggested PGmc *fersnō. Miller 2019:341 (Gothic Grammar) notes that there are two parallel forms in PGmc and both going back to PIE.

The OE entry, fiersn < PGmc *firsniz, a parallel form to *fersnō.
