To clean up the entry for 'firehosing', I have:

  1. Taken it as read that the expression exists and is used in the sense described;
  2. Re-written the definition for the major sense;
  3. Removed entry relating to 'firehosing' as a photographic term and the associated link - the usage seems to be too specialised to be of general interest (especially in light of the use of the word 'sin', which was clear in context of the URL given, but otherwise seemed odd);
  4. Removed sections instructing readers as to what they should do if they encounter 'firehosing'. It is not the place of a dictionary to give moral instruction.

As you will see, the entry is now a great deal shorter, but I hope clearer. - Skohsl 16:22, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
