Etymology

@J3133: possibly, I suppose. I was largely relying on the OED which does not mention Foraminifera. One would need to look at many texts and see whether foraminifer or Foraminifera occurs first. — SGconlaw (talk) 21:45, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
