What is a hood in a car ? Example of usage : "the little gasoline-powered generator under the hood will keep the battery charged on longer drives" [1]. --Mac 13:10, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- The hood is the exterior engine cover at the front of the car. You raise the hood to gain access to the engine. The phrase under the hood is used as a figure of speech, symbolically referring to the power plant (engine). —Stephen 13:17, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
