Definition removal[edit]

I had added in a definition about hot date also possibly being part of a phrase directed at someone who is trying to get out of something undesirable to do something less important; there was also a useage sentence to the effect, "Do you have a hot date or something? Get back to filing these papers." It was deleted, and just asking what was the reasoning behind it? If it can be re-added, what is a better way to state hot date in that useage? Thanks! 209.152.115.153 01:01, 3 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's not a definition at all, no more than "have you left the oven on" would show the need for an additional meaning for oven to cover this usage. Your sentence is an example sentence for the definition we already have. Mglovesfun (talk) 22:46, 11 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sum of parts, or not?[edit]

This seems to me like that date that's hot - though we have 15 senses at hot, we don't have one for this? Other things cab be hot, such as an encounter. Mglovesfun (talk) 22:54, 11 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
